  • In 2016, that number rose to 53%
  • From 2015 to 2016, the use of visual content by marketers increase by 1300% overall

2. When asked what kind of visuals were most frequently used

  • 35% of marketers stated that they used stock photos most frequently
  • 30.4% said that they used original graphics such as infographics the most

  • 14% said they used charts and data visualizations the most
  • 5.4% said they used GIF’s and memes most frequently

3. When asked which type of visuals had the highest engagement

  • 41.5% of marketers said that infographics and other original graphics were found most engaging
  • 25.7% stated that charts and data visualizations performed the best
  • 20.2% said that videos and presentations performed best
  • 7.6% said that stock photos had the biggest impact, despite being used most frequently
  • 5% of marketers said that GIF’s and memes performed best

  • 71.11% of marketers claimed to spend less than 5 hours a week making visuals
  • 17.5% stated working between 5-15 hours a week in making visuals
  • 11.4% of marketers claimed that they have worked more than 15 hours a week in designing attractive visuals

5. When asked what methods were used for producing visual content

  • 31.6% of marketers said they spent less than 10% of their budget on visual content
  • 25.3% said between 11% to 20% of their budget
  • Only 1.3% of marketers spent 91% to 100% of their budget on producing visuals

9. When asked how much budget is projected to spend on visual content in 2017

  • 35.5% predicted they would spend more than 1/3rd of their entire budget on visual content
  • 21.5% said they would spend 21% – 30% of their budget
  • 21.5% said they would spend between 11% and 20% of their budget
  • 21.5% said they would spend less than 10% of their budget on visual content.
